Mud Season is upon us with a vengeance. Record rainfalls have created a soupy mess of our trail system and it is crucial that we all maintain discretion when tempted, even with the warm weather, to go out on the trails. Even mild use of a muddy trail can have long term impacts on the trail, and more importantly, can displease the landowners who are so generous with their trails (always be sure to thank them at every opportunity). Things will dry out and when they do, I look forward to seeing you out there.
Many thanks to all who participated in a great day today! We regret that snow conditions make it impossible to hold the event on Sunday.Already looking forward to Races 2011.
Calling all able bodies,
With the warming weather, we need all hands on deck today at NOON at the Myopia Schooling Fields (see directions below) with shovels in hand to keep snow on the trails for the Myopia Sled Dog Races to go on. We have over 50 dog teams coming over the weekend, and they need snow to race on. If you can make it, you will be a hero to the cause!
Today at NOON at the Schooling Fields!
Thanks and hope to see you there.
Meeting Place: Myopia Schooling Field. On Route 1A (Bay Road) across From Myopia Hunt Club and just North of Patton Park in Hamilton (on the left if you are driving north). There is a traffic light at a crosswalk there and you will see the race signs.
Time: Today, Friday at Noon.
Many thanks,

SEASONAL CLOSURE REMINDER : Per landowner request, all Winthrop properties, with the exception of the Groton House driveways from Winthrop and Highland Streets, are CLOSED until May 1. Thanks for your cooperation and many thanks for the Winthrops ongoing generosity in letting ECTA members ride on their lands during the drier seasons.
The Donovan’s Sagamore Hill property is temporarily closed due to agricultural ativities. ECTA will post the opening on this website when the Donovans reopen the trails. As always, many thanks to the Donovans for generously letting our trail users ride on their lands.
